Q: Can I meet you first?

A: Yes, of course! You can come in for a FREE 35-minute consultation where we can meet and chat. We’ll discuss your musical goals and how we can work together to achieve them.

Q: Where is the studio located? Is it easy to find?

A: Yes! “Your Voice” is conveniently located in downtown Toronto, a short walk or streetcar ride from College subway station. Please check out the Contact page.

Q: Do you teach online or outside of Toronto?

A: Currently lessons are exclusively held in downtown Toronto, in-person only. However, a special CD and instructional book are in the works for aspiring singers worldwide!

Q: I don’t want to sing classical- can I sing the music I want?

A: YES! You can sing whatever style of music you’d like. Music can be provided or you may bring in your own materials or both!

Q: Can I bring in my guitar?

A: Absolutely! Many guitar players come wanting to learn how to optimize their singing while playing simultaneously. There is an acoustic and a bass guitar as well as a keyboard at the studio that students are welcome to use.

Q: Do I have to practice?

A: If you’d like your voice to grow and improve, yes indeed! A moderate amount of practice and music review will ensure improvement. Recordings* of warm-ups and technical exercises will be provided along with your music.

Q: People have told me I’m “tone-deaf”. Can I still try to sing?

A: Yes! Absolutely! I’ve heard that a lot and yet I’ve never actually met anyone that is truly tone-deaf. You may find it tricky to sing on-key or in tune, but with proper training and encouragement we can have you feeling secure about singing in no time!

Q: I’m mature in years, can I still sing?

A: Yes! “Your Voice" accepts all ages. While it’s true our voices change throughout our lives, we can always make the most of what we have to work with.
